It was on this day in 1977 that those words first appeared on movie screens. As one of the reviewers said, the flick was “good enough to convince the most skeptical eight-year-old sci-fi buff.” The movie would go on to earn over $798 million dollars and spawn five more sequels/prequels as well as toys, video games, and all kinds of “collectible” items.
The first thing that Wiki says happened on this day is “240 BC – First recorded perihelion passage of Halley’s Comet” and the most recent is “2009 – North Korea allegedly tests its second nuclear device. Following the nuclear test, Pyongyang also conducted several missile tests building tensions in the international community.”
