Caffeinated Politics has a post in regards to some proposed legislation about concussions in youth sports. There is an amendment to the proposed law that no one is claiming credit for writing, and I had this to say:
If I had to guess, I’d say the author of the amendment is named Alec. That seems to be who does most of the law-writing for the GOP in Wisconsin.
For those who are unaware, ALEC is an organization that writes proposed bills/amendments for lawmakers to introduce in Statehouses across the nation. While I can understand why some politicans may need help when it comes to actually writing out the laws, I don’t understand why such an organization isn’t required to register as a lobbying group. State Rep Mark Pocan has introduced a bill which would do exactly that.
