What Happened – December 21

The earliest event that Wiki says happened on this day is “69 – The Roman Senate declares Vespasian as Roman emperor, the last in the Year of Four Emperors” and the most recent is “2004 – Iraq War: A suicide bomber killed 22 at the forward operating base next to the main U.S. military airfield at Mosul, the single deadliest suicide attack on American soldiers.

A couple other things that also took place on this day are:

1937 – Premier of the world’s first full-length animated movie, Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

1970 – Elvis Presley 1970 goes to the White House, unannounced and uninvited, and meets with President Nixon. During the discussion Elvis offers to help Nixon “fight drugs” and the President gives the rock singer a special narcotics agent badge.

Happy birthday to Andy Dick, Kiefer Sutherland, Jane Kaczmarek, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jane Fonda.
